Enchanting Lakeside Cabin in 50 Acres of Gardens!

Only stayed for one night, but the grounds around the property were beautiful. Wish we had more time to explore! The stay was exactly as described. Everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Would stay again!

What a perfect get away for me and my family! We traveled from Alaska for a milestone family birthday event and family from all over the US came for it. I knew we needed a unique and fun place to get and this was it. We nicknamed it fantasyland because it was almost unbelievable the moment you drive up to the gate and then down to the cabin. breathtaking gardens and statues and ponds meet you the moment you get on the grounds. we spent most of our mornings on the large deck, eating breakfast and visiting while listening to birds and the wind rustling through the trees. many of us took walks and had visits with family we had not seen, admiring the gardens and statues. the cabin was beautiful and the rooms spacious, especially the master which had two queen beds and the most beautiful en suite bath I have seen. the foosball table and pac-man video games were exactly what the boy cousins needed. 10/10 recommend. worth every penny.

What a place! I would come here just to walk the grounds, the house was a bonus! The property is called (or at least was) Cathedral Gardens and like I said above, the grounds do not disappoint! I know it will take sometime for the new owners to bring it back to its former glory and I can’t wait to go back and see what they have done. There is so much to explore- sculptures, pagodas, multiple ponds, woods, etc. The house itself is beautiful and nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable and our son enjoyed playing old school video games on a PacMan gaming table. There were a couple things that still need updating (some of the upper deck floorboards/nails as well as some of the outdoor furniture cushions) but none of it was a big deal. The town of Henryville is very small; I think there are 2 restaurants, no grocery store. We tried the pizza place and it was pretty good, especially since they offered Gluten Free options. It’s an easy 25 minute drive into Louisville from the house.
